Well, in the ABA Piru Nights season finale, we managed a 4th place finish which resulted not only in this plaque, but also gave us 11th place in the overall season standings and guaranteed us a spot in the ABA Team Championship at Clear Lake next month!
It was a tough night as only 6 teams managed a limit. We only had 7 bites but got 5 of them into the boat. I had a very nice fish come unbuttoned on a T-rig that almost certainly would have given us second place (we were only 1 pound back). Meanwhile, my partner, Randy Brandes, figured out the pattern by throwing a spinnerbait to the banks.
Despite the extremely low water levels and tough bite, it was a fun series. Now, it’s time to start getting ready for this championship, as well as the NBW Team Championship at Lake Havasu the week before. Gonna be a busy October!
