Being the fortunate Neanderthal I am, at ICAST 2013 I was able to see many of the new products the fishing industry has in store for us anglers in the near future. The “ICAST Eye Catcher” series features many of the most innovative and interesting of those new offerings. So, for those of you who couldn’t attend, enjoy!
The Japanese are known for making high-end, precision hard baits. DUO International is one of those companies that takes pride in their “Nippon quality”, and that is readily apparent in their DUO Realis line of lures. Coming on the heels of their widely successful 100SP and 120SP series of jerkbaits is the newly introduced 110SP. With the number designation standing for it’s length in millimeters, of course, the 110SP will fall right in between it’s existing cousins. While still sporting three extra-sharp #5 hooks like it’s bigger relative, the bait will have the internal steel balls of the smaller one. Like both, the 100SP will feature a super flat side body which creates a lot of flash and water disturbance while retaining a natural action to attract your prey. Also, like the 100SP and 120SP, it will give the angler pinpoint accuracy on the retrieve, stopping on a dime instead of continuing to float forward on the pause, allowing you to keep it positioned perfectly in the strike zone. Available late 2013. MSRP $14.99
NOTE: Unfortunately, their shipment of 110SP prototypes was held up in U.S. Customs at the time of the show. As a result, the DUO Realis Jerkbait 120SP is shown instead.
