2013 ICAST Eye Catcher: Livingston Lures

Being the fortunate Neanderthal I am, at ICAST 2013 I was able to see many of the new products the fishing industry has in store for us anglers in the near future. The “ICAST Eye Catcher” series features many of the most innovative and interesting of those new offerings. So, for those of you who couldn’t attend, enjoy!

Livingston Lures
If new technologies are your thing, the Livingston Lures line of hard baits should be right up your alley. Each one of their 8 model lines (3 depth-specific crankbaits, 2 sizes of pencil baits, jerkbait, wake bait, and lipless crankbait) contain an Advanced Rattle chamber that sends out underwater vibrations during the retrieve, which are picked up by the lateral lines of the intended prey. However, what really sets these lures apart is the proprietary internal audio chip that emits the sound of an actual injured baitfish, as recorded by the University Of Texas, which is activated when the bait hits the water. Some models also have a red internal LED light that fades in and out, giving the effect of a bleeding baitfish. Combine these technological advancements with the wide variety of available color patterns, and there is sure to be a Livingston lure that will call you in for a closer look. Available now. MSRP $11.99
